England players 'will be told not to discuss Mary Earps' as Hannah Hampton storm continues

Earps won the competition in 2022, before being replaced by manager Sarina Wiegman for 2025, with the England manager opting for a younger Hannah Hampton.

In her autobiography, Earps explained that she had a major disagreement with the manager following what she considered "disruptive behaviour."

When Wiegman decided to bring Hampton back into the fold in spring 2023, Earps claims she told Wiegman that she was "rewarding bad behaviour".

This led to a breakdown in trust and was a key factor in the England star's international retirement in May 2025, just before the European Championships that year.

Ahead of Earp's UK return, where she will face Manchester United in the Champions League, former England team-mates "will be advised against talking about Earps, given the delicate nature of the situation," according to the Mail.

When announcing her retirement, the reactions of her teammates were mixed, with some expressing support for her.

Jess Carter praised her "bravery" and captain Leah Williamson said she was "devastated" about her departure.

Wiegman will likely speak to the press ahead of England's upcoming match against China on November 29.

Typically, Wiegman holds a press conference shortly after a squad announcement to discuss her selections.

She also speaks to the media before and after each England match.

Earps recently revealed that she is in a relationship with her girlfriend, Kitty.

The 31-year-old former England international shared details about her personal life in her forthcoming memoir "All In", scheduled for release on November 6.

She described herself as being in a "really happy relationship".

The revelation marked a significant moment for the goalkeeper who has previously maintained strict boundaries between her private and professional life.

The autobiography will offer readers unprecedented insight into the personal life of one of women's football's most prominent figures.

In a statement, Earps explained: "I've always tried to keep my personal life separate from my professional one, but it would have felt inauthentic not to include something so important to me in this book. I'm in a really happy relationship."
