John Murtough has resigned from his position as Manchester United football director and will leave this week, reports claim.
His role will be shared before Sir Jim Ratcliffe completes the appointments of Jason Wilcox and Dan Ashworth.
Murtough's role at United was expected to change after Ratcliffe's investment into the club was finally confirmed in February.
But The Athletic now says he will stand aside and leave Old Trafford altogether to allow the new regime to take shape.

Murtough has been at United for over a decade and had held the role as football director since March 2021.
He was promoted into the position at the same time that former United midfielder Darren Fletcher was appointed technical director.
Fletcher is reportedly in line to be given a new role at Old Trafford as part of a restructure but Murtough will leave.
It is the latest in a string of changes made by Ratcliffe in recent months.
Richard Arnold left his position as chief executive at the end of last year.
He has been replaced by Omar Berrada, who will begin his tenure in the summer after a period of gardening leave at Manchester City.
Former FA technical director Ashworth is the No 1 target for Ratcliffe to become sporting director.
He is currently on gardening leave at Newcastle and his arrival is not yet imminent.
Wilcox, meanwhile, looks set to join United earlier than Ashworth.
The former Premier League winner holds the position of director of football at Southampton.
Saints have been left disappointed by the timing of United's approach and weren't happy with their financial offer.
But The Athletic says the Red Devils are hopeful he will start as technical director in the coming weeks.
