Phil Foden has secured an agreement in principle with Manchester City to remain at the Etihad Stadium until 2030, with the club retaining the option to extend by a further twelve months.
The England international, whose existing terms were set to run out next summer, will commit his long-term future to the club where he has spent virtually his entire footballing life.
According to reports, the 25-year-old midfielder is poised to put pen to paper on the fresh four-year arrangement.
Foden's connection to City stretches back to when he was just four years old, making him one of the most successful products of the club's youth development system.

Pep Guardiola handed him his senior debut in 2017 during a Champions League fixture against Feyenoord, when the midfielder was only seventeen.
Since then, he has amassed more than 365 first-team appearances, contributing 110 goals and 66 assists across all competitions.
His trophy cabinet reflects City's domestic dominance, containing six Premier League winners' medals alongside a Champions League triumph and two FA Cup victories.
The midfielder's performances have declined noticeably since he claimed the PFA Player of the Year award during the 2023/24 campaign.
His goal drought now extends back to mid-December, and he has been unable to command a regular starting berth in Guardiola's side since March.

Foden appeared from the bench during Monday evening's dramatic encounter at Goodison Park, where City were involved in a six-goal contest that left them trailing Arsenal by five points in the title race, albeit with a match in hand.
Despite these difficulties, sources close to the player maintain he never contemplated departing the club.
Foden's international prospects for the summer tournament remain uncertain despite his new club commitment.
Thomas Tuchel has warned Phil Foden to up his game | REUTERSEngland manager Thomas Tuchel stated last month that the midfielder's inclusion in his 24-man World Cup squad cannot be taken for granted.
This assessment came despite Foden being the sole player to feature from the start in both matches during England's final training camp before the competition.
The new contract nevertheless demonstrates mutual faith between player and club, even as Foden works to rediscover the form that made him the country's outstanding performer just twelve months ago.
