Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones delivered an extraordinary outburst following Wednesday's crushing 4-1 home defeat to PSV Eindhoven, declaring the team are "in the s***" during a remarkably candid television interview.
The 24-year-old academy product could barely contain his emotions whilst speaking to Irish broadcaster RTE after the Champions League humiliation at Anfield.
"I don't have the answers. Honestly, I don't. I'm saying that to everybody. It's just unacceptable," Jones admitted.
The England international's frustration boiled over as he struggled to articulate his feelings about the club's alarming decline.

"I don't even have to wait to think about it. I'm past being angry inside. I'm at the point now where I just don't have the words," he confessed during the explosive post-match assessment.
The midfielder's anguish comes as Liverpool endure their bleakest period in over seven decades, having now lost three successive matches by a three-goal margin for the first time since 1953.
Wednesday's capitulation marked their ninth defeat in just twelve matches across all competitions, a staggering collapse for the reigning Premier League champions.
Jones, speaking as both player and lifelong supporter, expressed his disbelief at witnessing such a dramatic downturn.
"It's hard because I'm playing for the team I support. I'm a fan, and I've seen this club all my life," he revealed.
The Merseyside-born midfielder acknowledged he had never witnessed Liverpool endure such a torrid spell during his lifetime.
"In a long, long time, I haven't experienced a Liverpool team going through a period like this with results like these," Jones stated.

Jones delivered another scathing assessment during a separate television appearance, demanding his teammates display greater physicality and aggression.
"It starts with just being a man out there and just wanting to tackle someone and just be a dog out there," the midfielder told CBS Sports.
The 24-year-old rejected any notion that Liverpool's technical approach should preclude physical confrontation.
"It's not always the fact that we've got these lads that are nice on the ball that, you know, we just play and play and play. Just go and smash someone," Jones declared.
He acknowledged his own culpability in the team's passive displays, admitting fellow players could equally demand more from him.
Jones lamented how opposing teams now arrive at Anfield expecting comfortable victories, rather than fearing the fortress it once represented.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher delivered a withering response to Jones' emotional tirade, challenging the midfielder's complaints about the team's lack of aggression.
"Curtis Jones is a passionate player, he's hurting right now and given an interview that's going to go everywhere," Carragher acknowledged on CBS.
The Anfield legend expressed frustration that Jones was lamenting problems within the players' control.
"When he says 'we need put a tackle in, we need to get closer to the ball'... who's stopping you? The only thing someone can't stop you doing is running. No one can stop you tackling, running and pressing. Don't tell us you're not doing it, just do it," Carragher insisted.

Significantly, Carragher questioned why Mohamed Salah hadn't fulfilled media duties instead.
"I'd love to have seen Mo Salah speaking there, rather than Curtis Jones coming out," he stated pointedly.
Despite the mounting pressure, manager Arne Slot maintained he feels secure in his position following discussions with Liverpool's American owners.
"I am feeling safe, I am okay, I have got a lot of support from above," Slot revealed after the PSV debacle.

The Dutch coach acknowledged the scrutiny was inevitable given the team's dire form but remained defiant about his future.
"It would be nice to turn it around and get a victory of course but if you are working as a coach and not doing well then it is normal that questions are asked," he conceded.
Liverpool's Champions League campaign continues with fixtures against Inter Milan, Marseille and Qarabag, with Wednesday's defeat leaving them outside the competition's top eight positions.
