Liverpool have reached an agreement in principle with Andoni Iraola, just days after Arne Slot was relieved of his duties.
The Reds opted to part ways with Slot a mere 12 months after the Dutchman had steered them to Premier League title glory.
It quickly became apparent that Iraola was poised to replace the 47-year-old, with the Spaniard currently a free agent following his departure from Bournemouth.
And Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Liverpool have reached an agreement in principle to make Iraola their next head coach, with talks advancing in the past 48 hours.
Iraola first arrived in English football back in the summer of 2023 when he replaced Gary O'Neil.
He initially guided the Cherries to 12th in his first season in charge, before they rose to ninth the following campaign.
Last season was a special one for supporters of the club, however.
Despite losing key players in the summer, as well as Antoine Semenyo in January, Bournemouth battled their way to sixth in the standings - securing European football in the process.

Liverpool haven't been the only club to register an interest.
AC Milan emerged as potential suitors over the weekend, though the Serie A giants are now poised to miss out.
The same can be said for Bayer Leverkusen, who have struggled to reach the heights of two years ago when they went unbeaten and won the Bundesliga under Xabi Alonso.
And Chelsea were also credited with an interest in Iraola before they eventually opted to make Alonso their permanent replacement for Liam Rosenior instead.

Club legends such as Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson will leave behind sizeable voids, while the Reds have also confirmed that Ibrahima Konate is leaving.
Konate had been hoping to extend his stay at Anfield but, after talks over a new deal collapsed, it's now been announced that his time on Merseyside is over.
PSG, it seems, are the frontrunners to secure the centre-back's signature.
Meanwhile, Slot has penned an emotional open letter to Liverpool fans, insisting he believes good times for the club are on the horizon.
"I leave with complete confidence in what lies ahead," he stated.
"The players who have given so much to this club, who have upheld its values and helped create so many unforgettable moments, have built foundations that will endure."

"Change is part of football, but I know that this club will continue to make its people proud.
"When I first stood beneath that sign in the Anfield tunnel, I knew what this club demanded. I leave knowing we never stopped striving for it."
