AC Milan have reportedly decided against signing Kyle Walker on a permanent deal in the summer, meaning an awkward return to his home country.
Despite the fact that Walker’s clause is just £4.2million, the Milan club will not be exercising the option to make his stay permanent.
Walker, 34, moved to Italy as he was fighting to save his marriage with Annie Kilner, who is the mother to four of his children.
The feud also embroiled influencer Lauryn Goodman, Walker’s ex-mistress, who is the mother to a further two of his children.

However, it seems that the defender will be forced to return to England, as the Italian giant will not be extending his stay.
Speaking on The Kyle Walker Podcast, he said: “After I said my goodbyes, Pep [Guardiola] got up and spoke and said a really nice message to me, just saying thank you for everything.
“But listen, it's not over. I'm just on loan here [AC Milan]. I've got to take that into consideration that I can go back [to Manchester City]. Obviously, both parties need to come to an agreement come the end of the season.

“The chapter's not fully closed, we'll see what happens.”
Walker suffered an elbow injury in Milan, forcing him out of some fixtures.
During this period, due to Walker’s injury and poor form, Milan changed shape to a three-back formation, which suits the defender less.

This has seen a sharp upturn in results for the Italian side, with the club now in European contention after being mid-table for much of the season.
The change also involved right-wing-back Alejandro Jimenez cementing a place in the team, as Milan have now won five of their last six games without Walker starting any of them.

“I wanted to play in Europe or stay in the Premier League, I do want to represent my country still and get to a hundred caps.

Walker currently has 95 caps for England, featuring in both of Thomas Tuchel’s opening fixtures, including a full 90 minutes in the 2-0 victory over Albania.
This suggests that, if the full-back is to continue playing regular football, he is in Tichel’s plans and therefore has a strong chance of joining the illustrious 100-club.
The question over Walker’s future then remains, with Manchester City not offering the 34-year-old substantial game time along with significant wages rumoured to be in the region of £180,000 per week, the selection of clubs at his disposal seems minimal.
