His departure cost him an annual salary understood to be worth £190,000, encompassing his roles on both The One Show and Match of the Day

Jermaine Jenas has placed his six-bedroom family residence near Barnet, North London, on the market with an asking price of £4.95million, approximately 18 months following his dismissal from the BBC.

The former England international, now 43, originally acquired the property for £2.8million back in 2006.

Estate agency photographs reveal the substantial home boasts an indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room facilities, along with a private gymnasium, dedicated cinema room and children's playroom.

The ex-Tottenham midfielder shared the residence with his wife Ellie, 37, and their children before their relationship collapsed following his high-profile departure from the broadcaster in August 2024.

Jenas has since registered his newly established company, Coldline Ltd, at a £3million terraced property in Hampstead, though he is not thought to reside there.

The broadcaster terminated Jenas's employment in August 2024 after he was found to have sent inappropriate text messages to two female colleagues working on The One Show.

His departure cost him an annual salary understood to be worth £190,000, encompassing his roles on both The One Show and Match of the Day.

At the time, the father-of-four acknowledged sending suggestive messages and expressed remorse to the recipients.

Following his dismissal, He told The Sun: "I am ashamed, and I am deeply sorry."

The former footballer maintained he had committed no illegal acts and that the exchanges were between consenting adults.

He was subsequently hit with additional allegations the following month, including claims he had "repeatedly pestered" a junior make-up artist for sex whilst employed at BT Sport.

Jenas confessed to deceiving Ellie during a family break in Marbella, Spain, when he secretly took a video call with BBC executives regarding the messages.

He revealed his wife was "absolutely raging" upon learning the truth and promptly expelled him from their bedroom.

"I just said, 'I've been sacked from the BBC'. She said, 'What for?' and I said, 'For sending text messages that weren't appropriate to two girls'," he recalled of the moment he told her.

His father, Dennis, speaking from Texas at the time, confirmed his son was "battling to save his marriage" and acknowledged the situation had "hit the family hard".

However, their efforts proved unsuccessful as in March 2025, Ellie confirmed their separation via Instagram after 16 years together.

She wrote: "After 16 years together and 4 wonderful children, Jermaine and I have decided to part ways. We will remain friends and continue to co-parent."

Jenas has since established his own production company as he attempts to reconstruct his career following the scandal.

Speaking on a podcast, he reflected on the ordeal: "It's been a really difficult moment for myself and my family what happened. I have always held up my hand and taken full responsibility for it, that's very important to do."

He acknowledged that his entire television career had been "wiped out" by the dismissal.

In December, appearing on the Golf Life YouTube channel, he spoke candidly about the toll the separation had taken, saying: "My whole world was blowing up."

Gary Lineker had previously tipped Jenas as his "natural successor" to present Match of the Day before his fall from grace.

The couple married in 2011 and share two daughters and a son.

Jenas also has an older teenage daughter, Sancha, from a previous relationship.
