EXCLUSIVE: Stephen Carr has opened up on the new Spurs boss

Former Tottenham defender Stephen Carr has raised two concerns about manager Igor Tudor ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Tudor has been appointed by Spurs on an interim basis after the north London giants decided to part ways with Thomas Frank.

However, his reign got off to a nightmare start last weekend with Arsenal cruising to a 4-1 victory at the home of their fiercest rivals.

Tudor has been managing since 2013, with Spurs the 12th separate role of his career so far.

Carr, speaking exclusively to GB News, has been unimpressed by the Croatian's record so far and also feels his lack of Premier League experience makes him a huge gamble.

"I’ve been speaking about how Robbie Keane would be a good fit for Spurs right now, given what he is doing in Hungary, he knows the club well and could well get a tune out the players," he said.

"Tudor hasn’t any Premier League managerial experience, his record isn’t amazing and although he seems a strong taskmaster, he has a lot of work to do to get these players winning games and moving away from relegation zone.

"It was a strange appointment as interim, when many were saying someone who knows the club and what it means to play for Spurs could be more advisable at this stage, but the decision was made, so Tudor is a gamble and one we hope comes off from a Spurs perspective."

Tottenham initially started the season with optimism.

Following the turbulence of the Ange Postecoglou era, the appointment of Frank was meant to trigger better days ahead.

However, it's been a poor campaign from start to finish and could yet get worse.

Speaking in association with Gambling.com, where you can find UK online casinos, Carr suggested that everybody must should responsibility for such woeful results.

"There is no one person who should shoulder the blame," said the Irishman.

"It’s a multiple issue of ownership, management, injuries and the players themselves.

"We know the ownership aren’t putting enough to wages for players, which has been evident, plus the recruitment of Thomas Frank, albeit looked a smart move following his time at Brentford, hasn’t worked out at all given his results.

"But, you look at that injury list and any other team would be struggling losing their top players for injuries for a large portion of the season.

"Then the players, and those who have been fit, are not performing to a level they should be."

Against Arsenal last time out, worrying footage went viral that appeared to show defender Micky van de Ven ignoring Tudor on the touchline.

Carr, however, says that the clip has been blown out of proportion.

"That isolated video isn’t anything to talk about to be honest," he said. "The player would have been working all week about facing Arsenal and you’re facing the best team in England right now, who can cause many problems for you.

"With confidence low it seems Spurs defence didn’t want to press to high otherwise being caught out, but subsequently there was so much space in the middle of midfield for Arsenal to exploit and the ball reached Viktor Gyokeres so easily for most of the game and he linked play up well for Arsenal.

"Spurs lacked a protection in them middle of the pitch and this has to be addressed. You have to compete in key areas."
