Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has admitted he does not want to be "wasting years" of his career and is weighing up whether to leave the club this summer.
The 22-year-old, who is a boyhood Liverpool fan, made the revelation whilst preparing for the European Under-21 Championship with England in Slovakia.
"It's just a situation that me and the team have to have a conversation about because I'm coming into an age now where I'm 22, I'm going to be 23 next season," Elliott said.
"I don't really want to be wasting years on my career because it's a short career. You don't know what's going to happen."

Elliott's playing time was severely limited last season, making just 18 Premier League appearances with only two starts - both coming in defeats at Chelsea and Brighton after Liverpool had already secured the title.
His overall statistics show a dramatic decline from the previous season. In 2023/24, he made 53 appearances including 27 starts, contributing four goals and 11 assists.
Last season, he managed just 28 games across all competitions with only six starts, totalling 822 minutes of action.
The 22-year-old was also sidelined for approximately three months after suffering a fractured foot in September, which further limited his opportunities.

"I need to reflect. I need to see if I'm content in doing what I'm doing and how can I improve as a player because that's the most important thing," the former Fulham ace said.
"I just want to improve and be the best possible version of myself. If that's to go somewhere else, then it's a decision that I'm going to have to make and I just need to see what happens," he explained.
The midfielder stressed that his feelings towards Liverpool remain unchanged: "Nothing makes me want to leave. I love the club, I love the fans, the team. I support them as well.
"But most importantly, it's just about what's best for my career."

This campaign, the former Fulham midfielder contributed five goals and three assists, including netting a late winner against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Elliott believed his goal at the Parc des Princes in March would mark a turning point in his season.
Coming off the bench in the 86th minute, he scored just 47 seconds later to secure a 1-0 first-leg Champions League victory.
"I thought PSG was kind of a high for me, especially with the Premier League game coming up a few days later," Elliott said.

"I thought it was an opportunity for me to get a start and showcase what I can do and just get a nice run out but the boss is the boss."
"He's the man in charge. He's the reason why we've won the league, because of his decisions. His decisions were not to start me, I can't complain."
Liverpool's interest in Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz could further complicate Elliott's situation at Anfield.
The Reds are pursuing a deal worth over £130 million for Wirtz, which would push Elliott even further down the pecking order next season.
Wirtz's switch to Merseyside seems more of a matter of when and not if at this stage.
This transfer interest adds another dimension to what Elliott described as an "enormous summer" for his career.
The midfielder, who joined Liverpool from Fulham as a 17-year-old in July 2019, is currently on international duty for England's Under-21 European Championship campaign, beginning against Czech Republic on Thursday.
