Gary O'Neil has secured an agreement in principle to take charge at Strasbourg, stepping into the vacancy created by Liam Rosenior's move to Chelsea.
The 42-year-old former Wolves and Bournemouth boss is poised for a return to management following discussions that took place over the weekend.
While the fundamental terms of the arrangement have been settled, the contract still needs to be completed before becoming official, according to the Telegraph.
Several English clubs had shown interest in O'Neil since his departure from Molineux last year, but the Ligue 1 outfit acted quickly to present him with the chance to continue his career in France.

He had previously withdrawn from consideration for a potential return to Wolves earlier this campaign.

His breakthrough opportunity arrived at Bournemouth in August 2022, when he was appointed caretaker following Scott Parker's dismissal.
The Cherries subsequently handed him the permanent role in November of that year, and he steered the south coast club to a 15th-place finish in the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Rosenior admitted he was excited to get going at Chelsea.
"I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies," he said.
"My job is to protect that identity and create a team that reflects these values in every game we play as we continue winning trophies.
