Manchester United legend Gary Neville delivered a scathing assessment of Luke Shaw during Monday night's shocking defeat at Old Trafford, declaring the defender "a waste of time".
The former United captain's frustration boiled over as he watched Shaw's performance in Ruben Amorim's back-three system during the Red Devils' 1-0 loss to 10-man Everton.
Neville particularly criticised Shaw for "ambling forward" when his side desperately needed urgency against David Moyes' depleted side.
His harsh verdict came as United failed to capitalise on their numerical advantage, leaving them stuck in 10th place in the Premier League table.

Neville's commentary grew increasingly exasperated as the match progressed, with the pundit stating: "I'm not saying it's easy playing against ten men, you have to play with some urgency, you have to put as many players as possible forward, into forward areas."
The pundit and analyst singled out Shaw's positioning, adding: "Shaw is starting to move forward a little bit, but he's ambling forward, let's be clear. He's been bugging me for the last 20 minutes.
"You can't do that. You should be running forward every single time, I don't care. Honestly, what he's doing there, you're not conning anybody."
The visitors were reduced to 10 men after just 13 minutes when Idrissa Gueye received a straight red card for slapping his own team-mate, Michael Keane, during a heated exchange.

Despite the early dismissal, Everton took the lead through Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's superb strike in the 29th minute, with the midfielder whipping a right-footed effort into the top corner.
United controlled possession after the red card but struggled to create clear-cut chances against Moyes' well-organised defence.
Amorim maintained his 3-4-3 formation throughout, with defenders Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Shaw predominantly positioned behind the ball as United searched unsuccessfully for an equaliser.
The defeat ended United's four-match winning streak at Old Trafford and cost them the chance to break into the top four.

Neville also expressed his frustration with United's tactical approach during the broadcast: "You have five at the back, why? They still don't win the first ball or second ball. Embarrassing."
After the match, Amorim revealed: "Really frustrated like any other person that supports Man Utd.
"The way we started the game, the way we didn't understand how we should play against 10 men. They deserved to win."
The Portuguese coach highlighted his side's lack of intensity from the opening minute.

He added: "You can feel it right away when we start the game in the first minute you can feel when we are at the top level of intensity and when we are not.
"Then when we are not we cannot win in this way.
"Fighting is not a bad thing. Fighting doesn't mean they don't like each other.
"Fighting is that you lose the ball and I will fight you because you lose the ball and we will suffer a goal. I feel afraid of returning to this feeling of last season, that is my biggest concern.
"We are not even near at the moment where we're supposed to be in this club."
