Thomas Tuchel's England squad will operate from the Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City during their World Cup campaign, according to reports.

The £15million training complex, which opened in 2007, sits within the historic Swope Park and offers nine pitches in total, comprising six synthetic surfaces and three Bermuda grass fields.

Several Premier League sides have already trained at the venue during American tours, including Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

A small stadium capable of accommodating approximately 2,000 spectators is also part of the campus.

It previously served as Sporting Kansas City's home before becoming their academy base.

Kansas City has emerged as an unexpected hub for the tournament.

Two of England's major rivals are also establishing their operations in the Midwest.

Argentina, the defending champions led by Lionel Messi, are expected to base themselves at Sporting Kansas City's current first-team training facility.

The Dutch national team will prepare at the Kansas City Current's training ground, home to the MLS club's women's side.

Fifa reportedly gave Argentina priority in selecting their base, as they open their title defence at the city's Arrowhead Stadium.

The Netherlands will also compete at that venue, while Algeria are set to use Rock Chalk Park in nearby Lawrence.

Harry Kane and England's senior players were consulted on the base camp decision.

The group expressed a clear preference for establishing a single headquarters with personalised elements rather than relocating between cities throughout the competition.

The choice appears logical given Kansas City's central location and wealth of training facilities, which should minimise travel demands despite England's group stage fixtures taking place in Dallas, Boston and New York.

While Fifa has not yet officially confirmed the various team bases.

Local residents are already anticipating a significant economic boost from hosting multiple national squads during the tournament.

England and Scotland's World Cup fixtures were revealed in December last year during the draw in Washington DC.

The Three Lions were drawn into Group L alongside Croatia, Panama and Ghana.

Scotland were drawn into Group C, meaning they will face Brazil, Morocco and Haiti.

This year's competition introduces a new 48-team format, expanding from the traditional 32-team structure used since 1998.
