Thomas Tuchel has left out several notable names from his 26-man squad for the upcoming World Cup.
With limited room for spaces, there were always going to be absentees, but the German has been bold, leaving out the likes of Manchester City's Phil Foden and Chelsea's Cole Palmer.
Manchester United's Harry Maguire has not been selected, while Lewis Hall, who has had a fantastic season at Newcastle United, will not be on the plane.
Highly-rated Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton has been left out the squad, despite featuring in the past for Tuchel.
United's Luke Shaw, who scored in England's defeat in the European Championship final in 2021, has not been selected.
Nottingham Forest skipper Morgan Gibbs-White is another attacking midfield option Tuchel has dismissed.
Speaking about leaving out Foden, Palmer and Gibbs-White, the German said: "There were difficult phone calls. For some of them, it's just a positional thing to have a balanced squad so we don't bring five number tens.
"Even if it was painful, I think it was the right call for England."
