Mohamed Salah remains a player in the spotlight following his recent public outburst.
The 33-year-old sent shockwaves around the footballing world when he decided to condemn manager Arne Slot and vent his frustrations, having found himself watching his teammates from the sidelines.
But former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey believes there is still a way back for the Egypt international, despite the brutal and scathing nature of his comments.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, via Willian Hill, Heskey said: "Yes, I believe there is [still a way back for him].
"He is going to AFCON [the African Cup of Nations], so has a chance to clear his head and get back to playing football for his country.
"Everything should be kept behind close doors and between Mo and Arne Slot, they should have spoken well before any of this came out.
"We had loads of disagreements in the changing room between players and managers and it always was kept inside and dealt with.
"It was out of character for him to come out like this and it’s not the done thing at all. There can be a way back yes, but let’s see what happens now.
"Liverpool spent a lot of money on strikers in the transfer window and can only assume they realise Mo won’t be around forever, so he will have to keep performing to stay in the team."

One person who hasn't minced his words on Salah is Jamie Carragher.
The Sky Sports pundit has relentlessly stuck the knife into the veteran, much to Salah's annoyance.
Heskey played alongside Carragher during his own time at Anfield.
Understandably, he doesn't have much to say on that feud.
"Everyone can have an opinion, and there is a way to go about it. That’s all I really want to say on it."
LATEST SPORTS NEWS:
Mohamed Salah hit out at Arne Slot after three games on the bench | PASalah, last season, was nothing short of sensational.
The Liverpool star netted 29 Premier League goals, driving them to the title following the departure of Jurgen Klopp the previous summer.
This term, however, Salah's stats paint the picture of a player who has experienced a drastic dip in form.
He has netted just four league goals, looking a shadow of the player who has electrified the Premeir League over the past eight years.
Heskey, however, thinks the decision to keep Salah - and hand him a bumper new contract - was still the right one.
"I don’t think so. Mo’s numbers were incredible over the past few seasons and you wouldn’t want to let that go by selling him," he said.
"However, although you are a legend of the club, you can’t come out like he did in the media.
"Mo still has a lot of offer offensively, but right now, Liverpool needed to look at themselves defensively to get it right.
"You have to always look to keep your best players, so you can’t fault the board for rewarding Mo."
While Salah is making the headlines, so too is Slot.

Arne Slot has found himself under immense pressure at Liverpool this season
| REUTERSThe Dutchman got the best out of his players last term, with Liverpool cruising to the title.
Ever since, however, their form has nosedived and they now face a fight to finish in the Champions League qualifying positions.
Some fans have even called for Slot to be relieved of his duties. Heskey, though, thinks the Dutchman warrants more time to turn things around.
"Arne Slot does deserves more time 100 per cent. Winning the league in his first season was excellent," he stated.
"He gets Liverpool and understands the club, what it stands for and how to be as a person and manage.
"He has started very well as head coach and after the investment in the summer, it was always going to take time to bed in the new players.
"With regards to Arne Slot, his recent press conferences have been spot on in his approach to dealing with the Salah situation."
