The Dutch forward's gambling activity occurred between 29 October 2023 and 28 March 2025, resulting in a £1,000 financial penalty alongside his sporting sanctions.

The regulatory commission confirmed that Foyo admitted to all charges when confronted with evidence of his betting breaches.

His suspension comprises one month to be served immediately, concluding on 2 November 2025, whilst the remaining four months stay suspended until 2 April 2027.

Should Foyo commit any further violations of FA betting regulations during this period, the suspended sentence would be activated in full.

The timing proves particularly unfortunate as the player celebrated his 21st birthday on the day his punishment was announced.

The Football Association released an official statement confirming the sanctions: "The Regulatory Commission imposed a £1,000 fine and five-month suspension from all football and football-related activity following a hearing.

"One month will be served immediately, with the suspension running up to and including 2 November 2025, and four months are suspended until 2 April 2027 pending any further breaches of The FA's betting rules.

"The Regulatory Commission's written reasons for its decisions will be published in due course."

The commission's verdict followed a formal hearing where evidence of the betting infractions was presented.

Full written explanations for the regulatory panel's decision are expected to be made public soon, according to the FA's announcement.

The case emerged after Foyo was initially charged in July, with authorities granting him until 16 July to respond to the allegations.

Foyo's journey to AFC Wimbledon began in Chelsea's youth academy before progressing through Norwich City's development system.

The forward subsequently joined Ipswich Town, where he spent three years gaining experience through various loan spells.

His breakthrough came during a temporary stint with non-league Chelmsford City in the first half of last season, where his performances caught the attention of Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson.

The Dons secured his permanent signature in January, and he contributed six appearances to their successful League Two promotion campaign.
