And it was Palace who won 3-2 in the shootout, with Mohamed Salah, Alexis Mac Allister and Harvey Elliot all missing for Arne Slot's men.
Henderson was the hero, with the England international denying both Mac Allister and Elliot from 12 yards.
Now, speaking after the game, the former Manchester United goalkeeper has hailed their achievement and praised everybody 'behind the scenes' for their role in his own heroics.
"These emotions are fantastic. The manager said we'd get chances in the second half and we deserved to win that in the end," he said.
"The homework we did for the penalties was great, thank you to everyone behind the scenes.
"It's incredible to beat Liverpool. Coming here they were the favourites, they have unbelievable players and are a good team.
"But we've won two trophies in three months for this club and it's a remarkable moment in our history."
Palace have been soaring under Glasner ever since the appointment of the Austrian in February 2024.
