Cristiano Ronaldo appears to have confirmed his departure from Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr with a cryptic social media post on Monday evening.
The 40-year-old Portuguese superstar wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "This chapter is over.
"The story? Still being written. Grateful to all."
The message came less than an hour after Ronaldo featured in what now seems to be his final match for the Saudi Pro League side.

His apparent exit announcement follows speculation about his future, with his current contract set to expire next month after joining the club in 2023.
Ronaldo scored in his final appearance for Al-Nassr, but it wasn't enough to prevent a 3-2 defeat to Al Fateh in their Saudi Pro League season finale on Monday.
The loss meant Al-Nassr missed out on qualification for the AFC Champions League Elite, ending a disappointing campaign for the club.
Despite signing one of football's greatest ever players, Al-Nassr have failed to win a league title during Ronaldo's time at the club, finishing 13 points behind champions Al-Ittihad this season.
The only silverware Ronaldo managed to secure with Al-Nassr was the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup.
Ronaldo's goal against Al-Fateh took his tally to 25 for the season, securing his position as the Saudi Pro League's top scorer.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been prolific during his time in Saudi Arabia, netting an impressive 99 goals in 111 appearances since joining Al-Nassr in 2023.

Despite his individual brilliance, team success has largely eluded Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, with the club failing to win the league title during his tenure.
At 40 years old, the Portuguese forward has made it clear he intends to continue his playing career, writing in his social media post that his story is "still being written".
Speculation is now mounting about Ronaldo's next destination, with several options reportedly on the table.
There are suggestions he could join a team participating in the expanded Club World Cup, which begins in the United States on June 14.
