Cristiano Ronaldo Jr has been called up to the Portugal under-15s - his first international call-up.
The call-up was confirmed on his dad’s Instagram story, who seemed to be beaming with pride as he wrote: “Proud of you, son”.
Junior made the move from Manchester United to Al-Nassr along with his father at the start of 2023, after Ronaldo fell out with former boss Erik Ten Hag. The youngster also represented Juventus at youth level.
The 14-year-old has since made a distinct impression in the Saudi Arabian youth division, forcing a first national team call-up.

Junior will be facing Japan, Greece and England in an international tournament held in Croatia later this month.
He follows the legacy of his father, who holds the record of 136 senior international goals, 24 more than second-place Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo is also the highest international appearance maker with 219, 23 more than Bader Al-Mutawa of Kuwait.

At the 2016 Euros, the footballing legend led Portugal to their first ever international trophy, despite being infamously forced off during the first half due to injury, but his influence on the game did not wane. He also came runner-up in the Euros golden boot, leading to a fourth Ballon d’Or.
In 2022, he revealed: “My son says to me: ‘Dad, hold on a few more years, I want to play with you! But I will never pressure him - he will do what he wants.”

"Also, what I want the most for ‘Cristianito’ and everyone else is that they're happy and that they choose what they want. I will support in any way.”
The chances of an on-field Ronaldo reunion seem to be growing, with Junior’s emergence in the game along with Ronaldo’s recent contract extension.
LATEST SPORTS NEWS:
In January of this year, the then-39-year-old extended his contract with Al-Nassr by a further two seasons, taking him to June 2026.
Upon the end of this extension, Junior will have just turned 16, meaning a collaboration seems unlikely, but not impossible.
The new contract was a small decrease in pay for Ronaldo, who is expected to receive in the region of €180 million for the 2025/26 season.
The 40-year-old is looking to hit untouchable status by scoring his 1,000th senior goal - he currently sits on 934 and has scored 72 times in 74 games for Al-Nassr, so the dream seems entirely plausible.
