Chelsea are open to selling former Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho in the summer after only purchasing the Argentinian eight months ago.

The Blues forked out £40million for Garnacho's signature in September, who has endured a tricky season at Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old was eager to join Chelsea in January last year, with his agents visiting West London.

However, after numerous average performances in a blue shirt and not being a preferred option on Liam Rosenior's side, the Blues are open to hearing offers for the Argentine, reports The Sun.

The Chelsea boss was previously full of praise for Garnacho when asked about him last month, saying: "He's got huge ability and potential.

"For any young player, the biggest thing to be challenged on is consistency.

"But he's shown really good signs. Not just in training, but in meetings, that he's on a really good track."

But Pedro Neto has emerged as Rosenior's preferred choice on the left-hand side, having started the last couple of games in the Premier League.

Garnacho recently wiped all Chelsea-related content from his TikTok account, with his profile now only containing four videos from his time at Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old went further by sharing a clip from a United supporter account that paid tribute to his spell with the Red Devils.

He could face his former side, who journey down to West London tomorrow, in what would be his first encounter against United.

The winger penned a seven-year deal with the Blues, running until 2032, when he made the move.

Speaking to Premier League Productions about whether he harboured any regrets over his departure, Garnacho said: "Maybe yes, because I loved that club.

"They gave me the confidence from the start. From Spain, to bring me to the academy, then they bring me to the first team.

"So it was like four or five years and amazing love from everyone."

The forward acknowledged his own part in the deterioration of his United career, admitting he reacted poorly when his playing time diminished under Ruben Amorim.

He explained: "I remember in the last six months I was just not playing like before at Manchester United. In my mind, maybe it is also on me, I started to do some bad things."

His debut campaign has produced modest results, with the winger scoring only eight goals and providing four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

Under Rosenior, Garnacho has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter, beginning only 14 Premier League matches this term.

His only league goal this season underlines the difficulties he has faced adapting to life at Chelsea.
