A Championship match between Hull City and Stoke City ended in complete chaos as a huge brawl broke out.

Players from both sides clashed following the final whistle, with security holding back fans.

Hull City snatched a dramatic 2-1 triumph at Stoke City through Joe Gelhardt's injury-time strike, propelling them into the Championship's top six positions.

The forward netted his ninth goal this campaign in the 90th minute, completing a remarkable comeback for the visitors at the bet365 Stadium.

The final whistle sparked chaotic confrontations between players from both teams after Hull celebrated their victory in front of the home supporters.

Mohamed Belloumi's dancing provoked Ashley Phillips, with the Tottenham loanee reacting furiously as other Hull players rushed towards the altercation.

Referee Lee Doughty brandished yellow cards to Kyle Joseph and John Lundstram as tensions escalated.

Objects were hurled from the stands as home supporters expressed their anger at the visitors' celebrations, with security forced to intervene and hold them back.

Officials eventually restored order after several minutes of disorder, with eight minutes of stoppage time played before the teams finally left the pitch.

The unsavoury incidents marred what had been a thrilling Championship encounter, however.

The Tigers had fallen behind during the opening period but fought back after the interval to claim an improbable three points.

Their victory ended a two-match losing sequence and marked another successful away trip to the Potters.

Stoke dominated the opening 45 minutes and took a deserved lead through Sorba Thomas's spectacular strike in the 17th minute.

The Wales international hammered home from 16 yards after Aaron Cresswell's corner was cleared by Semi Ajayi, with the ball dropping perfectly for Thomas to unleash an unstoppable volley into the roof of the net.

The hosts should have extended their advantage before the interval.

Ivor Pandur produced several crucial saves, denying Robert Bozenik's low effort and tipping away Thomas's curling attempt from distance.

Bae Junho's 20-yard strike appeared destined for the bottom corner until Pandur's intervention kept Hull in contention.

Hull emerged transformed after the interval, with substitutes Mohamed Belloumi and Kyle Joseph making an immediate impact.

Semi Ajayi headed in Belloumi's corner delivery just two minutes after the restart, though questions lingered over potential offside and handball infringements.

The equaliser shifted the momentum decisively in the visitors' favour.

Viktor Johansson was forced to save Gelhardt's attempt before reacting swiftly to deny Belloumi from close range.

John Lundstram, returning after a nine-match absence, nearly secured victory when he blazed over from close range.

But Gelhardt delivered the decisive blow, latching onto Belloumi's through ball to finish clinically past Johansson with time running out.
