Former Paris Saint-Germain stars such as Neymar and Kylian Mbappe have broken their silence after PSG tasted European glory for the first time in their history.
Since Qatar Sports Investments’ takeover of the club in 2011, led by Nasser Al-Khelaifi, PSG have been somewhat fruitful with their spending, but to no avail.
Superstars in the footballing world such as Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Zlatin Ibrahimovic, Angel Di Maria and Edinson Cavani have moved to Paris in the hope of taking them to glory, but none succeeded.
The one transfer that had the biggest impact wasn’t on the pitch - it was boss Luis Enrique.
Luis Enrique became the second coach to win the treble with two sides, along with Pep Guardiola

Since his arrival in 2023, Enrique has transformed them from an egocentric, star-laden side to an energetic, high-pressing and selfless team.
This change in vision, and the execution of it, has resulted in one of the best footballing sides supporters have had the pleasure of watching in many years.
They did it without the superstars and they did it in style, breaking the record for the biggest win in a European Cup final, 5-0.
There is no bad blood, however, between PSG and its former players who failed to achieve the same feat, with many taking to social media to congratulate their former employer.

Mbappe, who left the club for Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer in search of the elusive Champions League trophy, took to Instagram to pass on his congratulations.
“The big day has finally arrived, victory and in the style of an entire club, congratulations PSG,” the 26-year-old wrote.
Mbappe scored 42 goals in his maiden campaign in the Spanish capital, but is still searching for Champions League glory for the first time.
Neymar, whose £200million move to the Parisians is still a world record transfer, simply wrote: “Congratulations, PSG”.

The Brazilian won the famous treble under Enrique with Barcelona in 2015.
Former Chelsea defender Thiago Silva made over 300 appearances in France but only won the tournament when he moved to the blue side of London.
The 40-year-old, who is playing for Fluminense in his native Brazil, sent a heartfelt message to his fellow compatriot and defensive partner Marquinhos on the win.
He said: “Congratulations my little brother!! You deserve it, God honoured you!! You deserved this title!! I am so proud of you. I love you.”

Despite scoring 48 goals in the Champions League, and 156 goals in the French capital, legendary striker Ibrahimovic failed to win the tournament during his illustrious career - but he didn’t let any hard feelings get in the way of congratulating his former club.
The Swedish striker, who is currently an operating partner and senior advisor at AC Milan, wrote: “Here it is, Paris. Congratulations.”
Former Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani scored 200 goals for PSG but also failed to win the Champions League in his career, said: “Go champion, go champion, go go go champioooonn!”
There was one clear snub, however: Lionel Messi.
Messi is yet to congratulate his former club on their Champions League triumph - although after he left for Florida in 2023, he said he “wasn’t happy on a daily basis” in Paris, which could be the reason for the snub.
Despite their infamous struggles in the tournament, former players have moved to congratulate the new crop of players that have gotten the Parisians over the line.
The closest the side had ever gotten to winning the tournament was in 2020, when Neymar, Mbappe and co reached the final, but fell short to Hansi Flick’s Bayern Munich.
This time around, Enrique’s men went one step further and clinched the title, in a night that will go down in the history books for many reasons.
