Britain will host the Ballon d'Or ceremony for the first time as the award marks its 70th anniversary.
The Ballon d'Or is regarded as the most prestigious award in world football, created by the France football magazine in 1956.
Uefa confirmed London will host the award to pay tribute to England great Sir Stanley Matthews, who became the award's first winner seven decades ago.
"By staging its 70th edition in the capital of England and the United Kingdom, the Ballon d'Or continues its expansion and further strengthens its status as a globally prestigious brand," Uefa said.

Only six British players have won the Ballon d'Or in its 70-year history.
Matthews was the first when playing for Blackpool in 1956, followed by Manchester United's Denis Law in 1964.
Sir Bobby Charlton won the prize in 1966, before George Best a couple of years later.
Kevin Keegan is the only Briton to have won two Ballon d'Ors, going back-to-back in 1978 and 1979 with Hamburg.
The most recent British winner is Michael Owen, lifting the prize during his time at Liverpool in 2001.
