The Australian could be joining former Premier League stars Ivan Toney and Roberto Firmino in the Middle East

Ange Postecoglou has already been lined up for an immediate return to management after his dismissal from Tottenham Hotspur last week.

Postecoglou’s time in north London was nothing short of entertaining, chaotic and tumultuous.

The Australian endured a torrid second campaign at the club, finishing 17th in the league and becoming the first team in Premier League history to lose 22 games in a league season and avoid relegation.

One thing that the 59-year-old maintained, however, was his ability to win silverware, and it was a promise he duly delivered on.

His side beat an also struggling Manchester United side in the Europa League final last month to end their 17-year wait for a trophy.

Despite this, it was not enough to keep Postecoglou in the hot seat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and chairman Daniel Levy relieved the former Celtic boss of his duties.

In the last week, the Australian has enjoyed time with his family on holiday, but it seems he could already be on the move, but this time not in Europe.

Instead, Postecoglou could follow Steven Gerrard and Jordan Henderson in switching out the Premier League for Saudi Arabia.

According to the Telegraph, Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli are considering a move for Postecoglou.

Current boss Matthias Jaissle is eyeing a move back to Europe and has lined up Postecoglou to replace him.

The 37-year-old previously managed RB Salzburg in Europe, and has already been linked back to his native Germany with RB Leipzig and VFB Stuttgart.

The move could see the former Socceroos boss manage ex-Premier League stars such as Roberto Firmino, Ivan Toney and Riyad Mahrez.

Postecoglou will not be put off by the prospect of moving his family to Saudi Arabia.

The 59-year-old has worked in all corners of the world, managing in Australia, Greece, Japan, Scotland and England.

The opportunity at Al-Ahli could present an excellent opportunity for Postecoglou, who would also, undoubtedly, be compensated generously.

Tottenham announced on Thursday that Brentford boss Thomas Frank would be Postecoglou’s replacement.

Frank, 51, has built an excellent reputation in England, taking the Bees from mid-table in the Championship to cementing their place in European contention in a few short years.

His efficiency in the transfer market has been a particular highlight for the Danish boss, bringing in the likes of Ivan Toney, David Raya, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa.
