Formula 1's eagerly anticipated return this weekend faces significant uncertainty, with forecasters warning that severe thunderstorms could disrupt Sunday's Miami Grand Prix.
The sport has been absent for five weeks following the cancellation of both the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian races due to ongoing conflict in the Middle East involving Iran, the United States and Israel.

The Weather Channel suggests storms are probable, placing the likelihood of precipitation at 90 per cent, whilst Accuweather has specifically noted that "rain and thunderstorms could impact the race".
NBC 6 South Florida anticipates the morning will remain largely clear before scattered storms develop as the afternoon progresses.
F1's official forecasting takes a more optimistic view, estimating just a 30 per cent chance of rain, though it acknowledges winds reaching 36km/h and the possibility of showers.

Miami experienced comparable weather concerns during last year's event, when the F1 Academy race was abandoned after drivers encountered severe grip issues and poor visibility during a safety car formation lap.
