Lewis Hamilton could be joined by Adrian Newey at Ferrari next year if the Red Bull chief ends his contract early.

Lewis Hamilton has already indicated how 'impressed' he's been with Adrian Newey at Red Bull, indicating he would be in favour of the 65-year-old joining him at Ferrari.

The F1 grid is set to look massively different next year after Hamilton agreed a deal to leave Mercedes for Ferrari.

The move is set to have a knock-on effect up and down the grid as Mercedes look for an adequate replacement.

But it's not just the driver line-up that could change with reports indicating Newey could be set to leave Red Bull after 19 years with the team.

It's been claimed that the British design chief has grown 'unsettled' at Red Bull following allegations made against Christian Horner by a female employee.

He still has a contract with Red Bull that runs until 2025, something the team were keen to point out in a statement released in response to the bombshell rumours.

But the speculation over Newey's future also fed into rumours from earlier in the year linking him with a switch to Ferrari.

The iconic F1 team are desperate to return to the top of the sport having not won a Drivers' Championship since 2007.

Bringing Hamilton on board from next year is evidence of their push to reach the next level and Newey may provide exactly what they've been searching for.

Newey has been credited as the man responsible for Red Bull's success in winning six Constructors' Championships.

And Hamilton, speaking back in 2022, made it clear that he felt Newey was more important than the drivers at Red Bull.

"It's more that I'm impressed with Adrian Newey and his team," he said.

"I think it is a great team; they've generally had really great cars for some time.

"They've done a fantastic job and anything I've said in the past about the team, I didn't mean it in a negative way.

"I think years ago I said something about them being a drinks company, and I was just really highlighting that you would bet more on a car company, but they've proved me wrong and everyone else.

"But also knowing that Adrian did his thesis on ground effect cars when he was at university, it's no surprise what he has done and created this year.

"It is impressive but I believe in the young guns in my team and that we will catch up."
