The teenager will be hoping to win the tournament for the second year in a row tonight

Luke Littler has ruled out retiring from darts any time soon as the teenager prepares to face Gerwyn Price in the Premier League play-offs tonight.

The teenager has established himself as a household name over the past 18 months, having burst onto the scene at the 2023/24 World Darts Championship.

Littler won the Premier League 12 months ago, overcoming Luke Humphries to send shockwaves around the sport.

He has since secured glory at the World Darts Championship at the second attempt, having beaten Michael van Gerwen at Alexandra Palace back in January.

Littler goes into tonight's clash against Price hoping to continue his stunning form.

There has been talk of early retirement, with Nathan Aspinall recently suggesting the youngster could 'be off in about five years'.

But Littler, per Sky Sports, has now insisted that won't be the case with the darts star determined to keep on going.

"I know I've heard that, I don't know where he's got that from - don't worry, I'll be here in 10 years," he said.

"It's crazy to even think about retiring. If I win 16 world titles like Phil (Taylor), I'll retire, but I'm not even thinking about retirement at the minute - the money is there to be won, especially the World Championship, but not only that everything has gone up.

"It is all about what you're feeling and I'm sure I'll be here for a long time."

Littler knows that he's the man to beat.

Due to his young age, the teenager accepts that he's got a 'target on his back' as he bids to win the Premier League for the second year in a row.

"For the last 18 months there's been a target on my back," he continued.

"Since I first came on tour and made the World Championship final, I just knew.

"From the moment I walked into my first Pro Tour [floor competition], I knew everyone wanted to beat me. That is still the same now.

"There will always be a target on my back and I know if I'm not on my A-game, they will catch me out."

Just two players have won the Premier League back-to-back.

Phil Taylor was the first, with the darts icon winning the tournament for four years on the trot between 2005 and 2008.

Michael van Gerwen was the second, with the Dutchman securing glory in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 - having won the tournament for the first time in 2013.

That will likely motivate Littler as he bids to join that elite club.

The darts star faces Price at the 02 Arena tonight, with the Welshman relishing the chance to cause a major upset.

Aspinall and Humphries will also do battle in London in the other semi-final.
