The darts star feels 'unbeatable'

Luke Littler has admitted he feels “pretty lucky” to have girlfriend Faith Millar by his side as his remarkable run of success continues.

The teenage darts sensation has enjoyed a whirlwind two weeks on the road, travelling more than 23,000 miles across Australia and New Zealand to claim back-to-back World Series titles.

With his parents opting not to make the long-haul trip after struggling with jetlag last year, and manager Martin Foulds forced to leave early due to illness, it was Faith who provided the constant support Littler needed.

Her presence, the 18-year-old revealed, has helped him stay grounded through the demanding schedule.

On Saturday night in Auckland, Littler lifted his third trophy in a month, having also won the World Matchplay in Blackpool.

The streak has stretched his unbeaten run to 13 matches and banked him an additional £60,000 in prize money.

Reflecting on his form, Littler said: “I feel very good now. It’s three titles in a row for myself.

"The darts are there, the averages. I just feel unbeatable at the minute.

"I’d say this is one of the best patches I have been in for quite a while. I want to put in the prize money. Add it on. Put the pressure on Luke.”

That Luke, of course, is Luke Humphries, who remains the official world No 1 despite Littler’s blistering form.

While many fans already consider “The Nuke” the best player on the planet, he insists he won’t take that title until the rankings confirm it.

“I’ve said plenty of times, I want to try to get to world No 1 for the World Championship,” Littler continued.

“With Luke and I, people will say we are the two best in the world right now. Numbers one and two.

"But we just play our darts. Luke is world No 1. Until I get to No 1, I won’t call myself the best player in the world.

"Being No 1 means you are the best — whether you are winning or not. Form-wise at the minute, I’m best on the stats.

"But I have just got to keep it up.”

Littler’s next challenge will be the Flanders Darts Trophy in Antwerp on August 29, where he will attempt to extend his winning streak to four titles in a row.

“I said on stage, the next one is Antwerp for the European Tour," he added.

"Hopefully I can make it four titles in a row."

For now, though, Littler insists his biggest advantage isn’t just on the oche. Having Faith alongside him, he says, has been just as important as any double 20 finish.

Littler was previously in a relationship with Eloise Milburn. However, the pair split last year with the gruelling demands of his darts schedule believed to be a factor in their break-up.
