Former world champion Gerwyn Price has posted several times on Facebook indicating his support for Reform

Former world darts champion Gerwyn Price has thrown his support behind Reform UK Wales in a series of outspoken social media posts ahead of the Senedd elections.

The “Iceman” made his political views clear to fans on Facebook. He urged voters to back Reform UK and claimed support for the party was surging across Wales.

In one post, Price wrote: “The amount of people I know that are voting Reform is unbelievable, first time I’ve ever voted in my life as well… if they don’t win there’s definitely something fishy.”

The darts star also shared a photograph of his ballot paper showing a cross marked next to Reform UK Wales.

Another post came in response to a customer eating chips from his family-run takeaway business.

Price joked: “I hope they were good chips. They will taste even better if Reform UK Wales have good news tomorrow.”

The Welshman has increasingly used social media to criticise mainstream parties and call for political change in Wales.

He has previously accused Labour and Plaid Cymru of failing Welsh communities and insisted Reform UK offers a fresh direction.

His comments sparked a wave of reaction online. Supporters praised him for speaking openly about politics.

Critics accused him of spreading division and making controversial claims without evidence.

Price’s backing is a major boost for Reform UK Wales as the party attempts to build momentum ahead of future elections.

The party has targeted Welsh voters frustrated over issues including immigration, public services and the cost of living.

Away from politics, Price remains one of the biggest names in world darts.

Before picking up darts professionally, the 40-year-old enjoyed a career in rugby union. He played as a hooker for clubs including Glasgow Warriors and Neath RFC.

Price switched to darts full-time in 2014 and quickly rose through the ranks of the Professional Darts Corporation.

He won the PDC World Championship in 2021 after defeating Gary Anderson in the final.

The victory saw him become world number one for the first time.

Known for his intense celebrations and fiery personality on stage, Price has become one of the sport’s most recognisable figures. He has won multiple major titles, including the World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts and World Cup of Darts.

Despite dividing opinion at times, Price remains one of darts’ biggest attractions — and now one of the sport’s most outspoken political voices too.
