Thomas Markle has slapped down a claim from Meghan's sister that he is trapped in the Philippines.
It comes after Samantha Markle took to social media on Tuesday to allege that Thomas, 81, was "stuck on the 19th floor of a building in the Philippines after a massive earthquake".
At the time, Samantha continued to tell her X followers that "he can't walk and he is trapped".
On Wednesday, the 60-year-old posted an update about her father, 24 hours after the earthquake struck.

She said: "I wish to extend our deep gratitude to everyone expressing concern about my father. Thank you.
"As of today he is OK , and making plans to get out out of that building.
"They seem to be safe for now, and hopefully there will be no serious aftershocks.
"Provisions are being made so that he won't be trapped in a similar situation again. God bless and stay safe everyone!"
Thomas Markle is an Emmy-winning lighting director | ITVHowever, Thomas has spoken to TMZ, alleging he is safe in his hotel room, and in no way "trapped" and "unable to walk" as his daughter claimed.
The 81-year-old is currently in the Philippines but maintains that his hotel was not near the destruction caused by the earthquake, adding: "The epicentre was 100 miles from here."
He continued to state that he has not spoken to Samantha, so is unsure why she posted on social media that he was "trapped".
Thomas told the outlet: "I'm currently sitting on the couch in my hotel room, with my feet kicked up and watching Charlie Chan movies. I'm quite comfortable."

Thomas also stated that his estranged relationship with the Duchess of Sussex remains unchanged.
Their relationship began to deteriorate ahead of Prince Harry's 2018 wedding to Meghan, after Thomas staged paparazzi photographs.
The Duchess subsequently told Oprah Winfrey in a 2021 interview: "I've lost my dad," when asked about their relationship.
