The wife and manager of Ozzy discussed the monarch's kind act

Sharon Osbourne has shared details of an emotional letter she received from King Charles following the passing of her husband, Ozzy Osbourne.

The Black Sabbath frontman died at the age of 76 in July, just weeks after performing a farewell show.

Sharon explained: "His Majesty sent me a letter the next day… King Charles [had it] hand delivered... [It said] just how sorry he was."

The 73-year-old tearfully shared how much receiving a letter from the monarch meant to her.

"He [Charles] knew Ozzy. He knew we met him several times, and he's always been so gracious with Ozzy, and they would always laugh together… He got Ozzy. He got him," she told Piers Morgan's Uncensored.

The King was not the only head of state to send their tributes, with US President Donald Trump also leaving the family a voice message.

Battling the tears, Sharon continued: "When you look at King Charles, and you look at Donald Trump, whatever anybody might think about them, it's their business, but their days, you know, how full their day is?

"I mean insanity, and that they had the time and the graciousness to do that for us."

Also in the heartfelt interview, Sharon said that Ozzy's final words to her were: "Kiss me, hug me tight."

In August, it was confirmed that Ozzy's official cause of death was a heart attack and "acute myocardial infarction", typically referring to the death of tissue caused by a failure in blood supply to an organ.

Recalling the day, Sharon had woken up at around 4am at the couple's home in Buckinghamshire, and just 20 minutes later, Ozzy had died.

The 73-year-old said she screamed when she found Ozzy slumped over in the gym at their house, apparently having decided to have an early workout despite his health.

"He had a heart attack. I ran downstairs, and there he was, and they were trying to resuscitate him, and I'm like, 'Don't - just leave him. Leave him. You can't. He's gone.'

"I knew instantly he'd gone. And they tried and tried, and then they took him by helicopter to the hospital, and they tried, and it's like, 'He's gone. Just leave him'," she said.

Before heading to the gym downstairs, Ozzy had apparently been in the bathroom all night, moving around and at one point telling Sharon to "wake up," which she responded to by saying his actions had already woken her.

That was when he said to her, "Kiss me, hug me tight."

Sharon said that Ozzy had been told by his doctor that his final show would kill him.

She explained: "He didn't want to die on stage, he didn't. But he did it his way.”

Ozzy's homecoming funeral procession in Birmingham was "like a dream," Sharon said, in which she felt she was "looking down at it all".

"My kids could see and feel how much their father was loved… it was overwhelmingly warm, going back to your hometown where you're really loved."
