Buckingham Palace is understood to be concerned about the situation

The Sarah Ferguson scandal has put Prince Andrew bid to stay in his Royal Lodge home under new pressure, according to reports.

The Duchess of York is facing growing fallout after seven charities cut ties with her on Monday night following the publication of emails she sent to Jeffrey Epstein in 2011.

Other organisations are said to be reviewing their links with the former working royal.

The development adds pressure on King Charles to consider excluding Sarah and her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, from private family gatherings and to resolve the long-running dispute over their Windsor home, Royal Lodge.

A spokesman for the duchess declined to comment on the matter on Monday night when contacted by GB News.

Sarah, 65, has long presented herself as a global philanthropist despite a history of failed business ventures and periods of serious debt.

The latest revelations could damage her current commercial projects, which include children’s books, historical romance novels, film consultancy work and a recently launched tea range.

While Sarah has no formal royal role and the Palace has little control over her activities, she has been welcomed at non-official family events in recent years.

She attended the Christmas Day and Easter church walks and joined Andrew at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral last week.

Prince Andrew receives no public funding or taxpayer security. The King removed the personal stipend once provided by Queen Elizabeth to encourage his brother to leave Royal Lodge and adopt a more modest lifestyle.

Charles has reportedly offered to help with private security costs and reinstate some funding if Andrew agrees to move.

Andrew has resisted, citing a long-term lease with the Crown Estate that he says guarantees his right to stay provided payments are made.

The loss of income from Sarah’s business interests, however, could alter the situation. According to the Mail, some believe she has been supporting Andrew financially as the main breadwinner.

In 2010, while facing nearly £5million of debt, Sarah accepted a £15,000 payment arranged by Andrew from Epstein to settle wages and bills owed to a personal assistant.

The move caused an outcry, and she later issued a public apology, saying it was a "gigantic error of judgment on my behalf".

But the Mail on Sunday revealed that weeks later she sent Epstein a "desperate email" which read: "You have always been a steadfast, generous and supreme friend to me and my family."

Referring to "paedophile" as "the 'P' word", she wrote: "I did not, absolutely not, say the 'P' word about you but understand that it was reported that I did."

She added that both she and Epstein "are, and have both been, in the firing line" and "both blamed for stuff we have not done".

A spokesman for the duchess told GB News on Saturday night: "She deeply regrets any association with him and abhors paedophilia.

"She had worked for many years to support vulnerable young people. Like many people she was taken in by his lies."
