Sarah Ferguson is not expected to take up residence with either of her children, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, sources have indicated.
Suggestions that the former duchess might relocate to Portugal to be with Eugenie, 35, or occupy a “granny annexe” adjacent to Beatrice’s, 37, Cotswolds home have reportedly been ruled out by insiders.
Instead, it is believed that she is actively looking for her own private residence.
Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, split their time between the UK and Portugal, where Mr Brooksbank works in marketing, sales and promotion for property entrepreneur Mike Meldman.

Meanwhile, Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, have a country home in the Cotswolds, whilst also maintaining an apartment at St James's Palace in London.
When Buckingham Palace confirmed in October that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had surrendered the Royal Lodge lease, officials noted their expectation that his former wife would make her own housing plans.
Representatives for the former duchess have been approached by GB News regarding these developments.
Andrew is confirmed to be relocating to the Sandringham estate, with King Charles set to finance his new circumstances.

This eviction followed the removal of his royal titles amid the scandal concerning his association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Consequently, the move will result in the disgraced former duke and his former wife living apart.
A friend noted: “He and Sarah will go their own separate ways for the first time in almost 20 years.”

The source added that beyond their shared role as parents and grandparents, “they will live separate lives”.
The insider continued to tell the Sun that despite poor weather, the building "still needs a lot of attention to make it habitable".
The insider highlighted the contrast with his previous home, stating: "But one thing for sure is that it is a lot, lot smaller and less luxurious than Royal Lodge."

The aim is reportedly to relocate "by the end of the month, or at least before his birthday in February".
