A designer has said she believes her £460 earrings helped "protect Meghan Markle from evil".
Meghan Markle's jewellery choices carry particular significance during pivotal moments.
The 43-year-old selected designer Sophie Lis's £460 Fallen Star Hoop Earrings for her final day as a working royal in March 2020.
Shaped like twin North Stars, the earrings symbolise "protection from evil" according to Lis, who explained: "Those Fallen Star Earrings are meant to offer guidance and direction; it's such a nice thought to follow the star."

The same starry hoops are owned by Princess Eugenie and actress Abigail Spencer, Meghan's longtime friend, demonstrating the designer's appeal across royal and celebrity circles.
Lis also revealed the profound symbolism behind Meghan's Love Pendant, a piece the Duchess of Sussex has worn repeatedly since 2020, including whilst arranging flowers on her Netflix show "With Love, Meghan".
The diamond and ruby-studded necklace bears the French inscription "+ qu'hier" and "- que demain", reflecting 19th-century poet Rosemonde Gérard's phrase from "The Eternal Song": "I love you more today than yesterday but less than tomorrow."
The London jeweller told Page Six Style the pendant symbolises "ever-growing love", adding special meaning when Meghan first wore the piece, as 10 per cent of sales supported Wild at Heart dog charity in Notting Hill.

Lis emphasised that the Duchess's support of the brand has been entirely authentic, with the designer stating: "Meghan was a fan of us right from the beginning.
She became aware of our brand just before she moved to the US, but there was no gifting — she definitely bought her pieces."
The jeweller expressed gratitude for Meghan's endorsement, particularly given the meaningful narratives behind each design.
"She's always been a great supporter, and I'm very grateful for her raising awareness of the brand, especially as the storytelling behind each piece is meaningful," Lis says.

Lis has recently launched a mushroom-inspired collection featuring sparkling earrings and pendants that "bring happiness with a nod to the psychedelic '60s".
"The Mushroom Collection is a tribute to the extraordinary power of nature; this new line captures the essence of healing and well-being," she explained, drawing inspiration from close friend Jess Clark, who runs a mushroom supplement company, Mother Made.
The designer described her work as inspired by "things beyond our understanding — the beauty of our world and infinite possibility of the unknown", with this collection aimed at "bringing joy and empowerment, whilst serving as a gentle reminder that magic can be found in the most unexpected places all around us".
