US President Donald Trump's attempt to deny international students the ability to study at Harvard University has left, Princess Elisabeth, the heir to the Belgian throne, in an uncertain position.
The 23-year-old princess recently completed her first year of a graduate school programme at the prestigious institution and is currently back in Belgium for the summer.
The Royal Palace of Brussels has been forced to issue a statement regarding the situation. Xavier Baert, the palace's communications head, said: "We are looking into the situation, to see what kind of impact this decision might have on the princess, or not. It's too early to say right now."
"And we'll have to see what happens next [school] year," he added.

The dispute began on April 16 when Kristi Noem, the secretary of homeland security, demanded Harvard turn over information about foreign students that might implicate them in violence or protests, which the university refused to do.
Trump has also attempted to revoke the school's tax-exempt status.
The Department of Homeland Security stated: "This means Harvard can no longer enrol foreign students and existing foreign students must transfer or lose their legal status."
However, a Massachusetts judge has issued a temporary restraining order against Trump's measure.
