Prince William has confirmed he will attend The Earthshot Prize ceremony in Brazil later this year, revealing the event will take place at Museu do Amanha in Rio de Janeiro.
The Prince of Wales made the announcement whilst meeting Earthshot Prize finalists at a 'Leading with Impact' gathering in the City of London on Tuesday, as part of London Climate Action Week.
The confirmation comes after Rio de Janeiro was announced as the 2025 host city in April.
This marks the first time the prestigious environmental awards will be held in South America, following previous ceremonies in London, Boston, Singapore and Cape Town.

The multi-day celebration will bring together innovators, investors, philanthropists and environmental leaders from across the globe.
The event will feature a series of activities showcasing promising environmental solutions, culminating in the awards ceremony where five winners will each receive £1 million to scale their impact.
The announcement video featured Prince William alongside Earthshot Prize Trustees Dame Christiana Figueres and Dame Jacinda Ardern, plus Council Members Cate Blanchett and Nemonte Nenquimo.
Supporting celebrities included Robert Irwin, Nomzamo Mbatha, Billy Porter, David Beckham, Hannah Waddingham and Heidi Klum, alongside Brazilian figures Cafu, Maju Coutinho, Marcos Palmeira and Mauro Silva.

Since launching, The Earthshot Prize has identified more than 5,300 emerging environmental innovations from 141 countries.
The initiative has recognised and supported 60 innovators through its Fellowship Programme, awarding £20 million to winners to help scale their solutions.
The 15 finalists for this year's prize will participate in a year-long accelerator programme, receiving mentorship, technical resources and business growth support.
They will also gain access to a global network of partners spanning business, philanthropy and investment sectors.

The Prize is currently reviewing 232 unique solutions from Brazil and South America, more than double the number from the 2024 process.
"2025 marks the midway point of the Earthshot decade and each year we've witnessed the remarkable power of human ingenuity in addressing our planet's most pressing challenges," said Prince William, Founder and President of The Earthshot Prize.
The Prince highlighted Brazil's significance as host nation: "As we bring The Earthshot Prize to Brazil, a nation rich in biodiversity and environmental innovation, we are seeing fresh momentum for new ideas to create healthier and safer ways to live our lives."
He added: "It is an honour to profile the people making our world a better place for us and for our children."
