The author of a new book on the Royal Family that claims Prince Harry once punched Prince Andrew in the face has issued a statement following the Duke of Sussex's pursuit of legal action.
Prince Harry has categorically denied having a physical fight with his uncle, Prince Andrew, with his legal team issuing a warning regarding the claim.
Andrew Lownie also claims in his book 'Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York' that Prince Andrew called Meghan Markle an "opportunist" and told his nephew that getting into a relationship with her was the "biggest mistake ever".
Extracts of the book have featured on the Daily Mail website, one of which claimed "punches were thrown over something Andrew said behind Harry’s back" and that the Duke of York was left with a bloody nose during an altercation in 2013.

However, a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex strongly denied the claims, telling GB News on Saturday evening: "I can confirm neither of those things are true.
"Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry."
The Duke of Sussex's team also confirmed that they had sent a legal letter to the Daily Mail regarding its story that included the claims in Andrew Lownie's book.
The spokesperson for the Sussexes said: "Such are the gross inaccuracies, damaging and defamatory remarks made in the Daily Mail's story, I can confirm a legal letter from Prince Harry's counsel has been sent to the Mail."

Andrew Lownie has now taken to social media to address the reported legal action.
He wrote on social media: "I look forward to doing battle and the disclosures which will emerge."
Andrew Lownie also claims in his new book that a meeting between Boris Johnson, when he was the Mayor of London, and the Duke of York was a disaster.
Lownie writes that Prince Andrew invited Johnson to lunch to discuss various issues in London.
The Duke of York reportedly arrived at the meeting with a list of things he wanted to discuss with the then-Mayor of London.

These issues involved advising that Battersea Power Station should be demolished, including the listed towers, Lownie claims.
The royal author added that Andrew informed Johnson that he felt the Queen Elizabeth II Centre was too small and not fit for purpose.
Johnson reportedly responded: "Well, if it’s too small, it’s your mum’s fault."
Lownie claimed that Johnson said following the conversation: "I’m the last person to be a republican but, f**k, if I ever have to spend another lunch like that, I soon will be."
Boris Johnson was the Mayor of London between 2008 and 2016.
