Monaco is preparing to host Prince William along with the French first couple

Prince Albert of Monaco made an unexpected appearance at his 10-year-old twins' school, surprising Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella.

Albert and his wife, Princess Charlene, share the two children who were taking part in a special assembly focused on bee conservation.

The twins, dressed in their red school uniforms, took centre stage during the assembly, delivering presentations about protecting bees.

Albert was seen, beaming with pride, as he watched and applauded the children.

Both Jacques and Gabriella had speaking roles in the educational programme, which aims to raise awareness about bee conservation and the challenges facing these vital pollinators.

The initiative was organised by the French Apidology Observatory, founded by billionaire Thierry Dufresne, who has worked with major fashion and luxury brands in France. It focuses on educating young people about the critical role bees play in our ecosystem.

During the interactive assembly, Albert and the other adults in attendance were observed giving hand gestures to demonstrate their reaction to the information being relayed.

Jacques and Gabriella, who were born in December 2014, are the first pair of twins in the history of Monaco's royal house.

Despite Gabriella being born a few minutes before her brother, Jacques will succeed his father to the throne.

This is because the Salic law is still in force in the Principality, placing Jacques in the line of succession.

The news comes as the Monegasque Palace announced that French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron will be making a state visit to the principality on June 7 and 8.

In addition, Prince William will travel to Monaco for an environmental summit focused on ocean preservation on June 8, where he will attend alongside Prince Albert.

The Forum is organised by the Government of Monaco, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, and the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco, with support from France and Costa Rica.

It will bring together business leaders, Government representatives, multilateral institutions and stakeholders committed to restoring ocean health.

Ocean preservation will be the main aim of the event as it seeks to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and regenerative blue economy.

The UN Ocean Conference Special Event will take place just days ahead of the 2025 UN Ocean Conference in Nice, France, from June 9 to 13.

Prince William will deliver a speech at the Heads of State and Government session during his visit, which coincides with the Forum's final day.

His speech will be followed by closing remarks from President Chaves Robles of Costa Rica, President Macron of France and Prince Albert.

The Forum aims to contribute to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: "Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development."

Prince William will meet with Earthshot Prize finalists, winners and key partners during the Forum to showcase innovative marine conservation solutions.

The participants will demonstrate technologies with the potential to reverse ocean damage and preserve marine environments for future generations.
