Loose Women star and news anchor, Charlene White, has issued their support for Meghan Markle following the onslaught of "hateful" comments the Duchess of Sussex has faced.
The broadcaster, who herself came under fire for not wearing a poppy on air during Remembrance Day, shut down the consistent criticism of the duchess.
She blasted television audiences' obsession with tearing Meghan down, sharing that it is "unfathomable" to her that people choose to be so critical.
Speaking at the British Diversity Awards at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London, she told the Daily Mail: "We could do an episode that features Harry and Meghan and people will be chatting about it on socials for like weeks and weeks afterwards, and I just cannot get my head around people getting so deep and meaningful and also hateful about someone they've never met before in their life.

Ms White, who helped host the diversity awards, continued: "I like discussing her, because I think it's important that we talk about her without the intention of trying to get clicks and trying to beat down yet another woman.
"I think that's really important, when for some, beating her down is almost a sport."

Cast member Hammed Animashaun delivered a pointed joke about Prince Harry's marriage, quipping that the duke was "going to marry a woman 98 per cent of the UK public will find it impossible to have a normal conversation about".
The gag alluded to the polarised opinions about Meghan, who has stayed a prominent public figure since leaving her senior royal duties with her husband in 2020.
Royal fans were left split over the targeted joke, with one quipping: "Ouchh!!! ------ Again??"
However, another social media user said: "The smearing of Prince Harry and Meghan just won't do. It's overused, and frankly too transparent."

Meghan was the subject of mockery in the latest Saturday Night Live UK episode

Agents, portrayed by Celeste Dring, Ayoade Bamgboye and Mr Animashaun, met with a spoof version of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, played by Jack Shep, to outline their supposed "29-year plan" to diminish the appeal of other royals.
Comedians targeted Prince William's appearance, and Sarah Ferguson's unique walk also became a subject of mockery.
Emma Sidi's portrayal of Ms Ferguson included a joke about her continued residence with Mr Mountbatten-Windsor.

Audience reactions to the sketch were mixed overall, but many viewers praised the writing as "brilliant" and "pure gold" on social media.
"You know when people say it's 'edgy'. Well, this found the edge and zoomed right off! Brilliant," one commenter wrote on YouTube.
Some viewers took issue with the sketch referring to Mr Mountbatten-Windsor as "Your Majesty" rather than using his former title, His Royal Highness, which was removed by the King at the end of last year.
"Well done, guys, a huge step backwards for comedy," one critic remarked, while another described the segment as "creepy as hell".
