Kensington Palace intend to “reset the balance” with their Princess Kate coverage, a royal commentator has claimed.
Royal commentator Gareth Russell has exclusively told GB News that Palace communications teams are seeking a more balanced approach to royal coverage.
Russell suggests the royal households want equal attention given to both the fashion choices of royals and their substantive work.
This comes amid ongoing discussions about media focus on royal appearances versus their charitable endeavours and public duties.

The comments offer insight into how Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace are attempting to shape public perception of the monarchy's work.
Russell's remarks highlight the delicate balance royal communications teams must strike between public interest in royal style and the substance of their official engagements.
Speaking to GB News, Russell elaborated on the communications strategy, saying: "We'll see the royal households try to create more of a balance between pieces written about what they're wearing versus what they're doing."
He added: "And I think that's probably what they're attempting to do - reset the balance."
This suggests a conscious effort by palace officials to redirect media attention towards the substantive work undertaken by members of the Royal Family.
Russell's comments indicate that royal communications teams recognise the public's interest in royal fashion but are actively working to ensure this doesn't overshadow coverage of their charitable work and official duties.
Russell's comments follow earlier statements from a Kensington Palace source to The Times regarding Princess Kate's public image.
The source had stated: "There is an absolute feeling that [the public work] is not about what the princess is wearing."

ReutersThey emphasised that the Princess of Wales "wants the focus to be on the really important issues, the people and the causes she is spotlighting."
The Palace source acknowledged public interest in royal fashion, noting: "There will always be an appreciation of what the princess is wearing from some of the public, and she gets that."
However, they questioned whether official commentary on royal attire was necessary, adding: "The style is there, but it's about the substance."
Following these statements, a Kensington Palace spokesman issued a clarification to GB News regarding recent reporting about the Princess of Wales's clothing.
The spokesman stated: "To clarify, the comments that appeared in the article were from me, not The Princess of Wales."
They emphasised: "The comments that were reported should not be directly attributed to The Princess of Wales."
The Palace representative concluded by confirming there had been no shift in their communications approach: "To be clear, there has been no change in our approach to sharing information about Her Royal Highness's clothing."
This clarification appeared to address potential misinterpretation of the earlier comments to The Times about royal fashion coverage.
