The Duke of Kent, the last working member of the Royal Family to remember the war, will be joined by the German President as they visit a Second World War bomb site.
The bombardments of Coventry and Dresden will be recognised during the German state visit on Friday.

Earlier this year, he represented King Charles at events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Dresden in Germany.
The visit to the cathedral will take place on the final day of the three-day state visit.
It is the first German state visit to the UK in 27 years, with the last one taking place in 1998, when Queen Elizabeth II hosted Roman Herzog, the then-president, at Windsor Castle.
The King, alongside his wife Queen Camilla, will formally welcome Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Budenbender, on Wednesday with an open-air royal dais in the centre of Windsor.

The group will then travel via carriage through the streets to the castle.
Prince William and Princess Kate will greet Mr Steinmeier and Ms Budenbender at Heathrow Airport before joining them in the Berkshire town.
Mr Steinmeier will go on to receive a ceremonial welcome in the castle quadrangle, attended by Charles, Camilla, William and Kate.
They will dine with a grand state banquet in the historic royal residence, St George's Hall, on Wednesday evening.

The German President will visit Downing Street beforehand to hold talks with Sir Keir Starmer.
The pair will join a meeting of UK and German business leaders.
Germany and the UK signed a new partnership, known as the Kensington Treaty, in July, with the Prime Minister pledging the two countries would "work ever more closely".
The agreement included freeing up school exchange visits and passport e-gates, and the setting up of a task force to explore a direct train link between the UK and Germany.

It also included a further commitment to closer co-operation on trade, security and defence.
Germany is currently strengthening its efforts to tackle illegal migration by introducing a new law to criminalise gangs who supply and store small boats for use in crossings to Britain.
Mr Steinmeier will also address parliament on Thursday.
This was denied to US President Donald Trump during his state visit as the House of Commons was not sitting at the time of his trip.
