The Royal Family has partnered with Battersea Dogs and Cats Home to provide pet owners with guidance during the festive period.

Battersea announced the collaboration on its official Instagram account today, revealing that the partnership involves the official social media channels of Queen Camilla, who serves as the charity's Royal Patron.

The animal welfare organisation shared a video featuring their Senior Animal Behaviour Manager, providing expert advice on keeping pets safe and content over Christmas.

Among the topics covered in the footage is whether Christmas trees pose any risks to household animals.

Queen Camilla has maintained a close relationship with Battersea, where she holds the position of Patron.

Earlier this year, the Queen welcomed a new four-legged addition to her household when she adopted Moley, a Jack Russell Terrier from the rescue centre.

The puppy's arrival was revealed in May, timed to coincide with Her Majesty's visit to the Dog Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Buckingham Palace described the new arrival as "mischievous Moley, The Queen's new much-loved canine companion."

In July, a photograph of Camilla with her rescue pup was shared on the Royal Family's social media channels, showing the Queen smiling as she held the beige and black terrier in the garden at Raymill, her private Wiltshire residence.

The image, taken by photographer Chris Jackson, captured Moley gazing at the camera with alert ears.

Moley was not the Queen's first rescue dog from Battersea, as Camilla had previously given homes to two other Jack Russell Terriers from the charity.

Beth joined the royal household in August 2011, followed by Bluebell in September 2012.

Sadly, King Charles and Queen Camilla announced in November 2024 that Beth had died.

Buckingham Palace paid tribute at the time, stating: "A sad farewell to Beth, The Queen's much-loved companion from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home who brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire."

Beth's memory was honoured with an inscription on the pathway at Chelsea's Dog Garden, where she is commemorated alongside Snuff, the King's dog.
