The 55-year-old had the honour bestowed upon him by Princess Anne at Windsor Castle on Tuesday for his services to literature and broadcasting.

"I was always trying to remember you have to shake hands and walk back to and then bow and then walk off. That's all I was thinking."
"I felt very nervous going in there. It's crazy being in Windsor Castle. It feels like a responsibility more than an honour."
Mr Osman stepped down as host of the popular BBC quiz show House of Games in March 2026. It was on the programme where he met his wife, Ingrid Oliver, who had appeared as a contestant in 2022.
