The Queen enjoyed a relaxed shopping trip in Scotland this week, accompanied by her daughter Laura Lopes and 17-year-old granddaughter Eliza.

The family trio were seen browsing shops in Ballater, the picturesque village close to Balmoral Castle, where the King and Queen are spending their annual summer break.

Camilla, 78, looked stylish in a pink and green floral shirt dress, paired with an emerald green cardigan and taupe suede wedges.

She accessorised with gold hoop earrings and a pendant engraved with the initials of her five grandchildren, Lola and Freddy Parker Bowles, Eliza, along with her twin brothers, Gus and Louis Lopes.

Laura Lopes and Tom Parker Bowles are the Queen’s children from her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles.

At the Coronation in 2023, her three grandsons acted as Pages of Honour, while the names of all five grandchildren were embroidered in gold thread on Camilla’s gown for the Westminster Abbey ceremony.

Earlier this week, the King was formally welcomed to Balmoral with a traditional ceremony featuring a guard of honour and the regiment’s mascot, the cheeky Shetland pony Cpl Cruachan IV.

Charles, 76, is expected to host several family members at the estate in the coming weeks, including the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children.

During her shopping trip, the Queen was seen glancing into the window of a local antiques store, with granddaughter Eliza by her side.

The teenager wore a cropped T-shirt and blue jeans. Eliza first caught public attention in 2011, when she was chosen as a flower girl at Prince William and Princess Kate’s wedding and later joined them on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Camilla’s grandchildren affectionately call her “Gaga,” according to her former daughter-in-law, Sara Buys.

The Queen has often spoken about the joy of time spent with them, once reflecting: “It was just a wonderful way of getting to know them, as you say, bonding. Sitting on the end of their bed and just reading.”

She also shared how she kept in touch with family during the pandemic, revealing that she used the Houseparty video app for calls.

Speaking to British Vogue in 2022, Camilla added: “It’s very nice getting a text. We learn from very young people and they learn from us, too. That’s the way it’s always been.”

The Royal Family are regularly seen in Ballater during their summer visits, though they favour Balmoral for its privacy and natural surroundings, where they can enjoy walking, fishing, picnics and barbecues together.
