Kate could play a role in the rekindling of Harry and William's relationship

Princess Kate “has healing to do” and is not ready to act as a peacemaker with Meghan Markle, a royal commentator has claimed.

Kinsey Schofield spoke to GB News about the possibility of Kate playing a role in the rekindling of relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family.

Patrick Christys asked Schofield about there being “any chance” of Harry and Meghan heading across the pond for the festive period.

She responded by stating it is “too close” to Endgame, Omid Scobie’s book which included a series of royal bombshells, for such a thing to happen.

“She [Kate] was very unfairly called out by Omid Scobie”, she said.

“I believe unfairly. She’s got some healing to do at this point in time.”

Scobie, the Sussexes’ favoured journalist, took a swipe at Kate for supposedly being distant while Meghan was suffering with suicidal thoughts.

The author claimed Harry’s wavering relationship with his brother William was a key reason behind Meghan and Kate not having the chance to get close.

Schofield said Kate could still have a significant role to play in rekindling the relations between Harry and William, but it may take some time.

Patrick Christys waded in by stating: “I could see Kate acting as some kind of mediator between Harry and William.”

“But I just think Meghan is dead to her”, he added.

Schofield replied by asking, “I think if that was the case, who can blame her?

“If you read some of the books that have been published since Meghan entered the Royal Family and we give Omid Scobie any credit, he discusses how certain people didn’t reach out to Meghan, but we know they did.

“If we read between the lines, Meghan’s animosity came from wanting the attention of Catherine and wanting her to be her buddy, but she was exhausted and overwhelmed.”

Scobie claims there is a distance between Kate and Meghan that continues to this day.

He took a swipe at the Princess by calling her “cold” and a “Stepford wife”, as well as accusing her of not being there for Meghan.

“There would be moments where Meghan, whether she was liked or not, was at her lowest points, as in her time as a working royal, she's spoken about those suicidal ideations that she's had during her pregnancy,” he told AP.

“For Kate, who is a mental health ambassador who champions the early years sector, including focus on pregnancy right up until the age of five, you would think that that might have struck a chord with her.

“But there seems to be just this distance that has continued between the two and does to this day. I mean, as far as I know, they haven't had a proper conversation in a number of years.”
