Princess Kate and King Charles are both being treated for personal health concerns

Royal Biographer Angela Levin has claimed Princess Kate's health concerns are "very worrying", as the senior recovers in hospital after surgery.

In a statement released by Kensington Palace on Instagram, it was revealed that the Princess of Wales was admitted to The London Clinic on Tuesday to have the "planned procedure" on her abdomen.

In another statement released by Buckingham Palace, it was announced that King Charles will also be hospitalised next week, after being diagnosed with an enlarged prostate, which is "benign".

As a result of the two senior royals being treated for health concerns, Prince William and Queen Camilla are expected to also withdraw their royal schedules, to look after the King and Princess.

As Kate recovers in hospital, Kensington Palace revealed that she is "unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter."

The King has also had to postpone engagements for a "short period" until he is back to full health.

Speaking to GB News, Royal Biographer Angela Levin says the news from the Prince and Princess of Wales is "worrying".

Host Mark Dolan agreed and claimed the surgery is "not a trivial matter", and is indicative of the severity of the Princess's health.

Angela Levin revealed: "It is very disappointing and very worrying because it is a long time. You can see that there is concern because William is also not going to do any work.

"Not only is he visiting of course and looking after the children, but he's going to be very close to her once she gets home and be with her."

She continued: "It is a wonderful thing to do and to put the family first shows you just how important it is and just how much he's lost by the fact that his mother was so badly treated.

"She's [Kate] eaten well, she does a lot of sport, she's a strong woman with a busy life, and she has much yearning to have her family as she loves them so much, that will help her get well."

Reflecting on the impact on the Royal Family and the absence of so many senior royals, Levin stressed it is "worrying" to not have both the King and Princess on duty.

Levin admitted: "It is worrying - it's very worrying to have three members of the Royal Family unable to do what they should do.

"But you have the ordinary person's anguish, where we expect them to be perfect at all times and ready to do all their duties."
