Princess Kate sparked a fan frenzy with her bespoke coat that she helped design during today's trip to Scotland.

In a charming moment that delighted royal watchers, Prince William demonstrated his gentlemanly credentials by holding his wife's coat while she immersed herself in learning the art of tartan weaving.

The princess handed her bespoke blue tartan coat to William as she settled in for her weaving tutorial, with the prince patiently watching on as she mastered the craft.

Kate's striking outerwear was created by renowned Savile Row tailor Chris Kerr, which she teamed with a black polo neck from Zara and black suede Gianvito Rossi boots.

GB News understands that the princess worked with Johnsons of Elgin on the design for the fabric of her tartan coat, a sign of her determination to celebrate British textiles and design.

The prince coordinated with his wife in a navy jumper that complemented her royal blue ensemble.

Social media users were captivated by footage from the studio visit, with one posting on X: "What a lovely couple they are, we are so lucky to have these two, our future King and Queen."

Others commented on Kate's coat, with one saying: "It’s beautiful. Well executed all around."

The Prince and Princess of Wales embarked on a tour of Stirling and Falkirk on Tuesday, championing Scotland's cultural heritage and traditional crafts.

William, 43, and Kate, 44, who hold the Scottish titles Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, visited Radical Weavers, an independent charity and tartan-weaving studio in Stirling.

The visit formed part of a programme highlighting how Scottish traditions continue to unite communities and inspire younger generations.

Earlier in the day, the royal couple joined Britain's Olympic and Paralympic curling squads in Stirling ahead of the upcoming winter games, where they attempted the sport themselves.

Following a brief five-minute tutorial from skips Bruce Mouat and Jennifer Dodds on technique, including pushing off from the rubber hack and using a slippery sole, the princess appeared hesitant about taking to the ice.

"You can go first," Kate told her husband nervously. "Are you sure? It won't make a difference," William replied before confidently positioning himself with a stone.

"Here we go, let's see what happens," he said as he slid forward, later laughing that his stone wasn't travelling particularly quickly.

Silver medallist Mouat reassured the prince that sweepers typically assist in guiding stones towards the house, the target area at the far end of the ice sheet.

When Kate's turn arrived, she stepped cautiously onto the 45-metre rink while gripping William's right arm for support.

Gathering her long skirt and tucking her hair back, the princess prepared to launch, though her nerves were evident.

"Just lean on both, Catherine," William encouraged, referring to the red stone and delivery stick provided to help beginners maintain balance.

Curling has its roots in Scotland, dating back five centuries, and remains one of Britain's most decorated winter sports with eight medals across Olympic and Paralympic competitions.
