The Princesses of York are no longer invited to participate

Princess Eugenie has issued a statement after she and Princess Beatrice missed Trooping the Colour.

The Princesses of York are no longer invited to participate in the King's Birthday Parade because they are not working members of the Royal Family.

In previous years during Queen Elizabeth II's reign, Prince Andrew's two daughters would ride in a carriage down the Mall before appearing on the famous Buckingham Palace balcony with their family.

However, since 2022, the rules have been tightened so that only working royals and their young children are permitted to attend Trooping the Colour.

Following on from Saturday's spectacular parade, Princess Eugenie, 35, took to Instagram with a new statement on Monday morning.

Ignoring Trooping the Colour, Eugenie said: "It was a joy to attend The Coral Collective’s charity art auction in support of coral preservation and restoration.

"Grateful to witness creativity being used as a force for ocean conservation & combining two of my greatest passions, art and the ocean. #ForCoral #ForTheOcean @projectzero @coral_global."

Project Zero commented underneath: "Thank you so much for joining us!"

Another royal fan wrote: "The artwork is like magic and beautiful!!!"

Similarly, someone commented: "Brilliant initiative."

The younger Princess of York has recently become more involved with royal engagements, having joined forces with the King's Foundation.

Princess Eugenie has joined The King's Foundation's new 35 under 35 network as a mentor.

The initiative brings together exceptional young people working across sustainability, traditional crafts and the arts as part of the charity's 35th anniversary celebrations.

The network aims to promote the change King Charles wants to see in the world.

The King's Foundation works to build sustainable communities and transform lives through education programmes and community regeneration projects at its hubs across the UK and internationally.

Princess Eugenie will be joined in her mentoring role by an impressive group of individuals.
