The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson is said to be opting for a more ‘elegant’ wardrobe

Princess Eugenie is predicted to ‘take inspiration’ from the Princess of Wales as she adapts to motherhood.

The 35-year-old royal shares two children, August, four, and Ernest, two, with her husband Jack Brooksbank.

Ciara Russell, a leading fashion stylist with experience working with huge name, observed an “understated” evolution of Eugenie’s wardrobe.

In contrast to the more outlandish looks she sported along with her sister, Princess Beatrice, the expert believed she was leaning into “cleaner silhouettes and softer, more refined looks”.

Russell believed this gradual change had been prompted by Eugenie’s embracing of motherhood and a growing role in the Royal Family.

She added that the Princess will likely be plotting her sartorial journey along the guidelines set by Princess Kate.

“As a young royal mum, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her take inspiration from Kate’s style shift.

“In recent months, she’s gravitated towards classic cuts, solid tones, and less of the bold prints she used to wear,” Russell continued to The Express.

Eugenie’s new style was demonstrated as she supported the Prince and Princess of Wales at a Buckingham Palace garden party last month.

She opted for a navy Rixo Evie silk dress in navy blue with white polka dots which was accessorised with a matching wide brim hat formal hat, also in navy.

Russell predicted that Eugenie would further pursue more “elegant, minimal looks” in the future.

She felt that Eugenie will opt for designers like Emilia Wickstead, The Vampire’s Wife, or Beulah.

She identified their pieces “timeless with a hint of edge,” something Eugenie will be drawn too.

Eugenie’s shifting tastes in style was mirrored by her sister, who were both once famous for their eccentric looks.

Perhaps the most memorable example of the royal pair's earlier fashion approach came during Prince William and Princess Kate's wedding in 2011.

They both opted for eye catching hats featuring outlandish fascinators, with Eugenie choosing an electric blue dress with bright purple and green patterns.

Eyes of fashion commentators and the public alike were drawn to the unusual ensembles, cementing the outfits as emblematic examples of looks that failed the impress.

Eugenie and Beatrice were even cruelly dubbed the "ugly sisters" by some for their outlandish fashion choice as a result.

Outside of her gradual fashion transformation, Eugenie has also been allowing royal fans touching insights into her life with her two young children.

The princess recently shared a sweet Instagram birthday tribute to her son, Ernest, to mark his second birthday.

Happy Birthday my darling Ernie. 2 today! And what an incredible two years it's been. Always smiling, always laughing, always giving hugs and hello's and making everyone happy,” she captioned the post

"My golden boy, we love you!" Eugenie concluded sweetly.

Alongside the message, the royal shared a collection of sweet images and Ernest and his brother, August, showing them enjoying their day to day life, playing in the garden and on a snowy ski resort holiday.
