Princess Kate led her family at Wimbledon as Patron of the All England Tennis and Croquet Club

Princess Charlotte has been celebrated for her "growing empathy" for her mother during Sunday's Wimbledon men's final.

The 10-year-old royal accompanied Princess Kate along with her father Prince William and older brother Prince George to spectate Carlos Alcaraz face Jannik Sinner from the Royal Box at Centre Court.

Charlotte came prepared for the the day's sweltering heat with her own sunglasses and fan, but chose to use it to keep her mother comfortable instead.

The Princess was photographed gently fanning Kate who sat in direct sunlight wearing Ralph Lauren sunglasses.

Princess Charlotte demonstrated ‘growing empathy’ for Princess Kate as she fanned her mother during Wimbledon

Though Kate appreciated her daughter's fanning gesture, she gently told Charlotte to stop after a moment.

This touching display of empathy holds particular significance given Kate's recent health challenges.

Early years specialist Sophie David explained that the moment reflected Charlotte's emotional maturity and strong bond with her mother, especially following Kate's cancer recovery journey which she recently described as a "rollercoaster".

"Princess Charlotte fanning her mum at Wimbledon is such a lovely glimpse of her growing empathy and kindness," David said.

Kate wore a bespoke royal blue V-neck midi dress by Roksanda featuring gathered fabric detailing on one shoulder

Charlotte incorporated the theme through a delicate blue bow in her hair despite wearing a cream dress.

They also wore similar sunglasses, both opting for cat-eye silhouette shades.

The Wales family, minus Prince Louis, attended the Wimbledon men's final with a coordinated blue theme

Prince William and 11-year-old Prince George continued the blue theme as they sported classic navy suits.

Notably missing from the family outing was William and Kate's youngest child, Prince Louis.

However, Kate was keen to make sure the seven-year-old was not forgotten as she requested three signed tennis balls from Sinner.

The Princess explained her eldest children were "taking one for their brother" to prevent him from feeling left out.
