Morrisons will start closing down 100 of its stores across the UK as soon as next month in a major blow to customers.
The supermarket giant has announced plans to shut numerous stores across Britain in a significant restructuring of its retail operations.
According to the retailer, its smaller Morrisons Daily outlets, typically situated on high streets and within smaller communities, will bear the brunt of these closures.
The decision has sparked worry among customers concerned about losing convenient access to their neighbourhood shops.

Last month, the retailer pointed to "significant cost increases" resulting from "Government policy choices" as a key factor behind the wave of closures.
Among the first locations affected is the Morrisons Daily in Woodley, Berkshire, which has been confirmed for closure on July 12, 2026.
The store also operates a Post Office branch, meaning residents will lose access to these services as well, with postal facilities expected to cease by the end of the month.
This dual loss has provoked frustration among local residents who depend on both the shop and its postal services.

The company acknowledged the difficulties this closure will create for customers reliant on banking and parcel services.
A Morrisons spokesperson said: "The performance of all company-owned stores across our Convenience business is subject to continuous review.
"Having completed the review, we are now proposing to take the tough but necessary decision to close a number of these stores over the next few months."
The company explained that the review had identified several underperforming outlets, many of which came through the McColl's acquisition.

Molly Monks F.I.P.A., an insolvency specialist at Parker Walsh, said: "The transformation of retail was already underway but the cost of living crisis has dramatically accelerated the closure of stores that might otherwise have survived another few years."
Ms Monks noted that discretionary spending had collapsed across many categories whilst high street footfall outside major city centres remained persistently below pre-pandemic levels.
She highlighted that business rates continue to disadvantage physical retailers compared to online competitors, an imbalance she said the government had failed to address.
